LocaltoNet vs Tailscale subnet router + Serve for a family web app
I already have this working through LocaltoNet, and honestly it has been pretty nice because I can just hand someone a link and they're in. The part I'm stuck on is whether Tailscale would be cleaner long term, or if it actually adds more friction once the people using it are family members who really don't want to install anything or sign in anywhere.
What I care about most is day to day ease, who can access it, and how much hand holding is needed when someone opens it from a phone, tablet, or random laptop. If you've used both for a small self hosted web app, which one ended up being simpler in real life?

Yeah, the install/sign-in step is exactly the part I keep coming back to, handing over one LocaltoNet link has been basically frictionless compared to anything that starts with "first grab this app." I havent tried Tailscale Serve with family yet for that reason alone, if you did, was the initial setup pain just a one-time thing or did people keep getting tripped up later when switching phones/laptops?
